Why do some parents say this when their children come out as LGB...?

Your future is not about your mom, it's about your happiness. Your mom is quite selfish planning out a life for you like a communist ruler. Don't live your life for her, live it for you. What should make her happy is that you are happy. That is the measure of a good parent.
