Suicide Prevention Information.?

My friend recently witnessed a suiced and it kinda changed her outlook on life. Now she really wants to help at a suicide prevention center/hotline but neither of us can find any information on it. If you have any suggestions please please please tell us. I've looked everywhere I can think of but can't find anything that tells you how to help.
