Why do golfers talk to their ball after they've hit it, it ain't going to make a difference?
its a form of affirmation . Ever here a pro yell be right, be right? That doesn't mean , please ball go to the right . What the golfer is saying is I know I hit the ball well, I know I picked the right type of shot , and I know I aimed it correctly . The be right comment refers to distance in the club . He is simply affirming within himself his choice to swing harder on a shorter club or softer on a longer club. When the ball lands on the green it reinforces confidence . When it doesn't it means simply the choice in club was wrong . Not his swing . Its through the flow of positive thoughts that the best golfers in the world cash paychecks week in and week out larger than your and my 401(k) combined . As for me the only talking i do is for the same reason coaxing my confidence more than trying to influence the ball. Swearing on the other hand..... is for those not so great shots hehehe I'm make sailors look tame during my 18 lol
